They say that “home is where the heart is” but if you’re purchasing your first home, you need to add a little bit of “brain” into the equation. PHL17’s Zachery Lashway sat down with Jeff Onofrio of AnnieMac Home Mortgage to discuss tips for potential first-time homeowners.

Onofrio explains that being prepared and understanding your situation are just a few of the main things to keep in mind. Tips such as keeping your documents together and knowing your credit score can help make this process as smooth as possible.

Onofrio also recommends keeping your options open when deciding which companies to work with in the process. How? By checking your track records through options such as the Better Business Bureau before you decide to work with them.
