The US Open has finally arrived in Merion and the city of Ardmore is buzzing with excitement! Local business owners are flourishing with the influx of about 25,000 visitors each day, especially for a city with a 12,000 resident population. Some business owners and residents of the area are creating new opportunities to capitalize on the US Open coming to town.

A La Maison, a French Bistro located just a few minutes from the historic Merion Golf Club, has partnered with a nearby parking lot to provide a park-and-shuttle service for patrons of the US Open. Dutch Gaitley, another Ardmore resident has opened up his lawn for visitors to park, and he is personally shuttling them right up to the closest entrance of the course. Gaitley says that his lawn and driveway can hold up to 56 cars for the weekend!

This quiet town has been transformed into a major destination to see some of the best golfers in the world, and for the local shops and restaurants business is expected to boom! The USGA informed the Ardmore Business Assocaition that they expect about $100 million to boost the city’s economy!
