We had a very special visitor on Eye Opener this morning.  The one and only, Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter.  In the wake of the deadly EF5 tornado that struck Oklahoma earlier this week, we talked about the importance of local recovery efforts.  We also discussed an exciting Summit taking place in Philadelphia that will bring together Mayors and other civic leaders from across the country to focus on innovation and technology. Temple University’s Fox School of Business is hosting the 7th Mayor’s Innovation summit which opens tonight and runs through Friday the 24th of June.

There will be over 30 mayors from across the country in attendance along with Innovation officers, Chief Tech officers, industry executives and policy leaders. Together the Mayors will capture ideas on how to make our urban areas grow safer, smarter and greener by coming up with new ideas and technologies to help local residents.

Mayor Nutter expressed his deep concern for the citizens of Moore Oklahoma and said he had been in touch with the mayor and other top officials. Organizations from the Delaware Valley have been a part of relief efforts in Oklahoma including the volunteers from the Red Cross.

To donate to the victims of the Oklahoma Tornado disaster relief fund, text Red Cross to 90999 to make a $10 donation or visit:
