In the heart of Southwest Philadelphia, Bodies In Motion Dance School is a true gem. As a former dancer, I was amazed by the way these young ladies and gentleman could move to such uptempo music. And inside the school the amount of trophies and awards these dancers have won speak volumes.
Owner Candy Smith started Bodies In Motion as a hip-hop dance company in 1995. Now it’s both a company and dance school. Dancers learn ballet, jazz, hip-hop, salsa and all forms of dance. Candy says ballet is the foundation for being a great dancer and her dancers practice around the clock, which helps them get to the top in national competitions.
I learned a few dance moves from teacher Krystina Milos-Delarge. She went over a fan kick and leaps. She says she loves performing because it allows her to become other characters.
These dancers are headed to the Turn It Up National Dance Competition in Ocean City, MD July 7-13. They would appreciate your support in getting there.
