The city of Philadelphia announced it will give every uniformed officer a taser.

This comes exactly one year after the death of Walter Wallace Junior, a Black man who was shot by police outside of his home in West Philadelphia. Officials say at the time of that shooting he was mentally distressed.

According to reports, the city has agreed to spend $14 million to purchase those tasers, train officers and require police to wear them while on duty.
