Valentine’s Day is a time for you to wine and dine your sweetheart, and if you forget,  it’s tomorrow. It’s a day to spend time with that special someone — shower them with flowers, affection and perhaps a nice evening out; which as we know can cost money (not the affection part, but…), but don’t worry businesses love it.

PHL17’s Zachery Lashway did some digging and found there are more than 24-thousand florists nationwide. The National Retail Federation says the average American will spend nearly $150 on Valentine’s Day this year making it an $18.9 billion holiday.

And ladies if you’re wondering men will outspend you by 73 percent.

According to Taylor Ferry of Robertson’s in the Chestnut Hill section of the city, Valentine’s Day is one of the two biggest holidays for them. The fifth generation employee says they will make anywhere from 1200 to 1500 deliveries during February 13 and 14. That’s close to 15-thousand roses!
