It was a special day yesterday for Gene Holt of Glenolden, PA who just finished up his last treatment for head and neck cancer. PHL17 cameras were on hand as Holt and his family -who has been by his side for all 35- radiation treatments and 15-weeks of chemotherapy,  celebrated by ringing the bell, while being serenaded by the sounds of the Greater Overbrook string band.

Gene Holt

“Happy. Proud of everything I went through. I’m doing good. I’m weak and everything but I am doing so good compared to where I was.”

 Dr. Deborah Markiewicz

“We definitely have never had a mummers celebration. This is one of the best end of treatment celebrations we have ever seen.”
