Joyti and her husband Vijai have realized their dream of bringing authentic Indian food to the American consumer with their line of Joyti Natural Foods. Their products, many of which are vegetarian or gluten free, stock the shelves of retailers like Whole Foods and even major airlines. The pair also owns and operates Joyti Indian Bistro in Mount Airy. And, get this, Vijai is the proud owner of over 20 patents including the engineering behind their bean cleaning machine! From humble beginnings to an multinational family cuisine empire, the duo’s mission has been simple – to enable people to experience delicious, authentic food from their home country.
Joyti herself joins Eye Opener’s Zachery Lashway in the kitchen to demonstrate how a traditional Indian meal is prepared. Chickpeas, chicken, naan….can we say YUM!
