Amanda VanAllen

Amanda VanAllen joined the PHL17 team in April of 2021. She comes to Philadelphia after spending a little more than three years reporting and anchoring in Cleveland (fun fact, she used to work at the same station as her co-anchor Nick Foley).

Amanda is so excited to call the city of brotherly love home. She lives in South Philly and can’t pick a favorite restaurant because she keeps finding new ones that make her change her mind.

Amanda went to Oberlin College where she played basketball and volleyball and met the love of her life. After college she headed east to get her master’s degree in journalism from NYU and stayed in New York City to work as a producer for ABC News before landing her first reporting gig at Fios 1 News on Long Island. Amanda then got her first Philly area experience at WFMZ in Allentown and after that headed to Cleveland.

Amanda is originally from Chicago and can school you on everything 90’s Chicago Bulls. In her free time, she loves hiking, hitting up a wineries or forcing her wife to do Groupon adventures with her.
