Have you ever wanted to own a zoo? Well now you can do better and adopt an animal at the Philadelphia Zoo!  Eye Opener Philly’s Zachery Lashway was able to get the inside scoop on the program while also getting up close and personal with two hippos: Cindy and Una. Lori Franzke from the Philadelphia Zoo explains the adoption program and all the benefits it comes with.

This is a once in a lifetime experience for a lot of people and it isn’t expensive! The basic level of adoption includes a photo of your animal and an invitation to Adoption Day. For a larger donation, you will be able to have a personal meet and greet with your adopted animal like Zach had the chance to do! These 4,000 pound animals spend up to 16 hours a day in the water but they didn’t mind coming on land to meet Zach as he fed them a treat.

Be sure to tune into Eye Opener weekdays from 6 – 8 a.m. You can find Zach on Facebook or follow him on Twitter @ZachLashway!
