It’s National Childhood Cancer Awareness month and the Children`s Hospital of Philadelphia is one of 24 recipients across the country receiving a special research grant.

Oncology specialist Michael Hogarty was presented with a 2016 Hyundai Scholar Hope Grant from Hyundai Hope On Wheels. The organization is awarding $7.5 million in research grants to more than 34 hospitals across the United States.

After the $250,000 check presentation, a hand print ceremony took place outside. Children affected by cancer were honored and put their hand prints on a white Hyundai Tucson. They were also greeted by smiles from Philadelphia`s own Phillie Phanatic.

The grant funds will be used to improve care and increase treatment options at the hospital.
