Some Philadelphia inmates and shelter dogs are getting a second chance at life.

The New Leash on Life program held it’s graduation ceremony at The Alternative and Special Detention Center in Northeast Philadelphia.

Program inmates were paired with dogs rescued from high kill shelters. The inmates train the dogs to establish core values needed in order to re-enter the workforce and society. Upon release, qualified graduates receive paid internships.
