This Sunday is the second Philadelphia Bikes and Beers event with a portion of the proceeds being donated to The Bicycle Coalition of Philadelphia to help improve cycling conditions in the city.

“Part of our events is the mission to support cycling in major cities. We do that by donating a portion of our proceeds to theses bike organizations. Naturally when we came to Philadelphia, the bike coalition is the biggest advocacy group in Philadelphia. We partnered with them and they have been a huge support. Last year we donated 1500 dollars to them, which helped get bike share in Philadelphia, helps improve bike lanes,”   Sam Accardi said, co-founder of Bikes and Beers.

The 14 mile bike ride starts at Yards Brewing Company with four times slots available with the earliest time starting at 9:30am.

“The ride starts here. So people will begin here people. There are three stops along the route. They will get a tasting at each stop and they are going to come back here they are going to get a full beer. There will be live music and there will be a food truck,” Zachary Artz said, events manager at Yards Brewing Company.
