Thousands of pilgrims made their way to Philadelphia to get a glimpse of Pope Francis.
“It’s way beyond explanation. It is beautiful, Dr. Joseph Jamaris said from Washington Township, New Jersey.
Josephine Reyes made her way to Philadelphia yesterday from Atlanta. She’s been following Pope Francis and his visit for weeks.
“Whenever I turn the channel and he is there especially coming here I teary eyed. He’s so moving. He is inspirational. He is so strong,” Josephine Reyes
Five thousand miles wasn’t going to stop Carmen Dominguez and her mother from making the trip from Chile to see Pope Francis.
“I am very happy and surprised with all of the city being so interested in the visit and so happy here that he comes,” Carmen Dominguez said.
April Connors and her mother Rosetta came from Camden, New Jersey. This was the second time April would see a Pope in the United States.
“I just love him. He is just a peoples Pope. He reaches out and touches someone and during this time. We need this. We absolutely need this,” April Connors said.
Local Philadelphia Darrell Pope, yes his last name is actually Pope…loves to see his city welcoming an assortment of different cultures.
“I love seeing so many different kinds of people,” Pope said.
