Philadelphia welcomes its newest underground pub restaurant: U-Bahn.
“In Center City there is not much live music. There is not an underground space like this at all that is open 7 days a week that offers as much as we offer,” Teddy Sourias said, owner of Brü Craft & Wurst and U-Bahn located at 1320 Chestnut Street.
With their homemade pickles, local cheese board, street food inspired sandwiches and festive craft beer selection, U-Bahn is unique.Video: U-Bahn Opens On Chestnut StreetVideo: U-Bahn Opens On Chestnut Street
"Our idea is all things local. Being so close to the hotels and the convention center and all kind of the out-of-towners. We think people want to come to Philly and try something that is intrinsically ours,” Alex Bokulich said, director of operations at Brü Craft & Wurst and U-Bahn.
U-Bahn offers a fifteen-foot stage with state-of-the-art sound system and are seeking Philadelphia’s next big band to be the websites house band. The winning band will receive $1,000 cash prize, be featured on the U-Bahn website and perform a live show on U-Bahn's stage, U-Bahn hours are from 4:00pm to 2:00am Sundays through Fridays, and Noon to 2:00am on Saturdays.
