Hundreds of people gathered along Easton Road in Plumsteadville, PA to honor all veterans for the opening of the Plumstead Township Veterans Park.

“It’s dedicated to all veterans past, present and the future,” said Daniel Hilferty, supervisor of the Plumstead Township board.

The new park, which officially opened this past Saturday,  honors freedom and the men and women who protect it.

“We are hoping this becomes a gathering point for many community events. A place for veterans to come and reminisce. It’s an honor to our local people as well as the entire nation,” said Jerry West, co-chair of the Plumstead Township Veterans committee.

The park honors each branch of the military with alcoves of Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard.

“I’m really happy to see this park. It means a lot. It means a lot to the community,” Arlene Fox said.

Thank you to those who serve and have served!
