Action News at 10 on PHL17 Expands to One Hour

Seven Days a Week Starting September 8th!

PHILADELPHIA – August 18, 2014 – 6abc and PHL17 are pleased to announce that the Fastest Growing News in Philadelphia is expanding to one hour beginning Monday, September 8th. The hour-long weekday editions of Action News at 10 on PHL17 will continue to be anchored by Brian Taff and Shirleen Allicot, with Meteorologist Adam Joseph providing the AccuWeather forecast, and Ducis Rodgers handling the local sports scene. Walter Perez, Meteorologist Melissa Magee, and Jeff Skversky will also continue to deliver news, AccuWeather forecasts, and sports on hour-long weekend editions on PHL17.

With the Prime Time news expansion, viewers can expect the same trusted Action News product for a full sixty minutes. “This is a tremendous opportunity for 6abc and PHL17 to expand and give the viewers more of the news they want,” says 6abc President and General Manager, Bernie Prazenica.

“In the last 2 years, we’ve seen substantial growth with Action News at 10 on PHL17,” says PHL17 Vice President and General Manager, Vince Giannini. “To become the most watched news at 10pm in July is a testament to the power of Action News.

Immediately following Action News at 10 on PHL17 will be the award winning comedy series, Modern Family, at its new 11pm time period beginning September 8th.
