Thanks to the Polar Vortex Winter of 2014, the smell of flowers was even sweeter than usual at this year’s Philadelphia Flower Show. The show’s theme for 2014 is “Articulture” or the mixing of art and fine art into all things plants, flowers gardening, etc.  The show is sponsored by the Pennsylvania Horticulture Society and is the largest indoor flower show, attracting almost 300,000 people annually. The 2014 Flower Show runs from March 1 to march 8 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center.  If you are a flower person– you know all about this show and how to enjoy it. If you’re not as into the flower part and are reluctantly going with someone who is? Check out the Frog exhibit by the kids from Abraham Lincoln School.  It’s Real Frogs and great for the non-flower types! Here’s a photo sneak peek from media day.

Visitors to the PHS Philadelphia Flower Show are treated to fabulous design, live entertainment, culinary demonstrations, gardening how-to workshops, and lectures by experts. Show week begins with an exclusive black-tie Preview Party and After Party, one of Philadelphia’s premier events. Proceeds from the Show support PHS, particularly the City Harvest program, which feeds more than 1,200 families each week during the growing season.
