Faux plastic wreaths beware, because today we’re joined by a special guest who makes dynamite homemade wreaths from all-natural components. Thanksgiving is just days away and Christmas is just around the corner, so make sure your house is decked out with these festive arrangements! Here to show us how to put everything together is Alix Astir, the owner of Trellis Fine Florals in New York City.
Alix says the key to a beautiful wreath is having a focal point. Whether it’s a small bouquet of chili peppers or a gilded pine cone, have something that’s going to set off your decoration. Another tip – make sure your wreath base is made out of grape vines; it looks good and is a more durable option to stand up to winter weather. You can ultimately add whatever you want to your wreath, just make sure it’s anchored in with floral wire so that it stays in place.
