Are you having trouble trying to figure out what to do with those old paint cans, batteries and TVs? Well we  have the answer for you!  According to the EPA, the average American generates approximately 4.6 pounds of waste each day and only recycles ¼ of that!  Each year, America Recycles Day promotes and celebrates recycling in the US.  The program, which was initiated and organized in 1997 by ‘Keep America Beautiful’, is a nationally recognized day to educate people on the importance of recycling through thousands of events around the country.

I was visited live on set today by Eric Blum, a recycling expert from 1-800-Junk who explained to me exactly how we can do our part in going green!

Eric Blum gave us five important recycling tips to keep in mind:

1.        – Sort recyclables by type

2.       – Use retailers to help you recycle

3.       – Donate items to charity

4.      – Recycle all types of metals

5.      – Be aware when recycling electronics

Check out the other tips on recycling Eric Blum gives me!  And if you would like more information on America Recycles Day, head to or check out to find a location where you can recycle near you!
