Who doesn’t love a great food truck? We do at Eye Opener and we were visited by two of the trucks headed straight for the Mt. Airy ‘Street Fare: Sip, Savor, Stroll’ happening tonight at 6 p.m.
The Surf and Turf truck and Gigi’s and Big R Caribbean Soul Food parked right outside our studio for some tasty treats. Check it out – Surf and Turf did some amazing lobster rolls on the grill with fresh kale. They even have an upscale cheese steak with fresh rosemary.
Gigi’s and Big R Caribbean Soul Food was hot, hot, hot! The fried chicken, mac and cheese and sweet potatoes were gone in a flash.
Little Jimmie’s Bakery delivered and big time – they brought in delicious brownies and cinnamon buns as we previewed the street fare.
Trolley Car Diner was a great stop with homemade donuts and what a way to top it off – add to that a “Growler” – aka – homemade beer from Earth Bread & Brewery.
And, don’t worry, organizers say you won’t have to miss seeing the Eagles face off against the Kansas City Chiefs. The food festival will feature an outdoor simulcast of the game, two stages of entertainment, new family activity zone and baby care tent, fashion truck, crafts and more.
