The Grand Buffet at Nero’s Restaurant in Ceasar’s in Atlantic City was booming at the 5th Annual Atlantic City Food & Wine Festival. Typically their Sunday brunch is a best-kept secret, but the real secret is a few towns over in Egg Harbor at the Master’s Farm, owned by Donald and Lisa Straga. The Straga’s have an exclusive deal providing fresh produce for restaurants at Cesear’s, Bally’s, Harrah’s and Showboat. The best thing about this farm is that everything is certified organic and not genetically modified. It all began three years ago with their vision to move farm-fresh food straight to the table with fresh and organic options. When they started, this couple never envisioned their produce would be the highlight of so many high-end meals, such as the ones served at the Atlantic City Food & Wine Festival.
How do the Straga’s do it? They say their love for mixed martial arts is what helps them run this farm because they know what it takes to have a strong work ethic. I’d say this is an example of why New Jersey is called the Garden State!
