2013 marks the third year that the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society has created temporary pop up gardens in vacant lots around the city. The PA Horticultural Society takes these gardens and transforms them with tons of greenery, flowers, and other plants that residents and visitors to the city love. The Director of Communications of the PHS believes the pop up gardens are meant to show people that the vacant “eye-sore” lots can be made into something beautiful, even if it is only temporary. The gardens are further transformed with the talents of many amateur and professional artist and musicians to entertain the visitors that come to the gardens. While visiting the pop up garden people can grab some food, a beer, or other drinks to compliment their evening.
