It was a cool morning on Eye Opener this morning.  We were entertained live by Electric Stingray, a band made up exclusively of father’s from New Jersey.

The rock band performed cover hits for us throughout the show this morning including “Lose Yourself” by Eminem and “Girlfriend” by Matthew Sweet.

Lead singer, Bryan McKenna is a fourth grade teacher and father of two girls.  McKenna says all the band members have been playing music since they were kids, and formed as a group just about a year ago.

In between the busy dad’s day jobs, running around with the kids the group makes time to practice at guitar player John’s house. The band actually got the name Electric Stingray from a beautiful orange fiber glass stingray that hangs in John’s house.

You can check out Electric Stingray live at Six Flags Great Adventure for the 2nd Annual Craft Beer Festival on Saturday, June 15th from 5-8pm

Happy Father’s Day!
