Salvation Army Thrift Store Collapses

Today I was live on the scene where the Salvation Army Thrift store collapsed in the city on Wednesday morning. Now that the search is over everyone is trying to answer the big question of what exactly caused the demolition site next to the thrift shop to collapse. Nadine White, an employee at the shop has hired civil attorney Robert Mongoluski to look into the case. Mongoluski says the contractor of the demolition company, Griffin Campbell should have had a demolition survey performed, but it is unclear whether or not that occurred. So far Griffin Campbell has refused to answer any questions, but he reportedly does have a criminal history. Mayor Michael Nutter says a pre-demolition visit was never made that would have checked the security of the site next to the thrift shop. There are also questions as to whether Campbell’s company had ever alerted the city they were going to begin demolition, which would have required a city inspector to observe the site.
