How many followers do you have? Are they all real? Zach Lashway sat down with a social media expert to dive into the growing epidemic on Twitter!

As a social media powerhouse, Twitter has become a significant aspect of the business community and is essential to growing and making money. As an indicator of a company’s influence on society, your number of Twitter followers tells you how important and popular you are, and because of that you may believe the more followers the better! But is that always true?

A common trend in Twitter is for individuals or companies to hire a firm to create new followers for them. This demonstrates to the general public that they are important! What’s up with that? Throughout the next year, it is expected that Twitter will limit these opportunities by making it harder to create fake accounts and save your Twitter credibility!

Do you have a story idea for What’s Up With That, Zach? Send him a message on Twitter @ZachLashway (We promise it’s not a fake!) or Facebook! Follow @EyeOpenerPhilly and tune in daily from 6-8am!
