TRENTON, NJ --  Strong winds whipped a fast moving fire down an entire city block Monday morning, as firefighters in Trenton battled a six-alarm blaze.

Officials declared the fire under control just after 7:00 a.m., but not before nine homes were damaged and two victims were sent to the hospital.  A Trenton firefighter was also treated for injuries.

The fire was first reported after 3:00 a.m. on the unit block of Weinberg Place.  Authorities say four homes were engulfed by the time they arrived. The entire block was evacuated as crews worked to clear homes.

Three cars were also damaged beyond repair during the fire.

Victims were transported to Capital Health to get out of the cold but eventually the American Red Cross stepped in to assist.
