It is that time of the year again when people across the country get ready to watch Shark Week! PHL17’s David Grzybowski was live in studio this morning with Kari Milroy, biologist from the Adventure Aqrium in Camden, New Jersey.

Check out the epaulette shark, chain dogfish/chain catshark and the white spotted bamboo shark in studio. The Adventure Aquarium has the largest collection of sharks on the east coast, including the only great hammerhead on exhibit in the United States.

Here's some facts on the sharks!

Epaulette Shark:

o     Live among coral reefs and tide pools.

o     Have the ability to “walk” on their fins (an important adaptation when you need to move from one tide pool to another over land).

o     Can survive in low oxygen environments and have the ability to redirect blood to essential parts of the body

Chain Dogfish/ Chain Catshark:

o     Found from Massachusetts to Florida and the Gulf of Mexico to Nicaragua

o     Can be found as deep as 1500ft

o     Max size approx. 1.5ft

White Spotted Bamboo Shark:

o     Native to the indo west pacific

o     Reach Approx. 3ft

o     Bottom dwelling sharks that breath through adaptations called spiracles
