Blizzard of 2016 brings major costal flooding to New Jersey & Delaware shorelines

Parts of the New Jersey and Delaware shorelines are experiencing moderate to major coastal flooding.

Coastal flood warnings remain in effect in the following counties until 12 Noon EST January 24th, 2016:

New Jersey:

  • Cape May County
  • Cumberland County

Delaware:

  • Sussex County
  • Kent County

Flooding is expected to last through three consecutive high tide cycles, the first occurring earlier this morning. The next high tides will hit between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. this evening and between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. Sunday morning. Waves between 18 to 22 feet in height are expected off parts of New Jersey and Delaware.
