Sometimes getting away can be what you need to start off the new year right. And Expedia Travel Expert Sarah Gavin has the best money saving destinations.
"At Expedia we see a couple of trends. one is, it's a really good time to go to Asia. the cost to go to Asia is down to about thirteen percent from where it was last year. We also see that it`s a good time to go to Europe. That's for two reasons; one is because fuel prices are down airlines are passing along some of those savings so that the ticket price to go is less, but then also wanting to take some much needed vacation time during the holidays.
Still not sure where to go? A new survey found how and where Americans are traveling in 2016.
Europe. Because the US dollar remains stronger than the euro you can really make your dollar stretch further.
"Book your flight and your hotel at the exact same time. We know all about bundling from lost of other industries right? You can save on average 20 percent, which for the average trip is 570 dollars. It's no surprise that Europeans win the prize when it comes to taking the most vacation. Really what we see is that Americans leave a lot of vacation days on the table and more than ever Expedia studied this trend for 15 years now. And what we saw this year is Americans are getting one average 15 days of vacation and are only taking 11 days of vacation."
