Washing and drying laundry can be a very consuming task, but one company is saving time--and the environment--biking your clothes to you.
“Wash cycle laundry has changed the way we look about moving freight in the city of Philadelphia,” cyclist Steve Prudente said.
Since 2010, Wash Cycle Laundry has delivered clothes to customers and even received orders from the Philadelphia Eagles and Temple University.
“People can’t really imagine the amount of freight that we do on a bicycle. But when you add all of the numbers and you see how much gas we don’t use, how much time we are actually still saving…its quite an efficient way to do wash and fold laundry,” Prudente said.
Manager Mildred Monroe has a passion for laundry.
"Because I have kids…I don’t let them do their own laundry. I’ve been doing their laundry for years and now I get paid to do someone else’s laundry. With my children I had to do it. Here I get paid to do it," Monroe said.
Wash Cycle Plans to expand in the coming months.
“It's great to be apart of something that’s so unique. Moving freight on a bicycle,” Prudente said.
