Pope Francis is months away from his visit to Philadelphia, but one Montgomery county company is already seeing a papal profit. Bleacher Creatures, the nationally known 10 inch plush doll company, launched their new Pope Francis plush doll.
“In a one week period we have sold more Pope Francis' than we ever sold anything in a one week period,” Matthew Hoffman said, president and founder of Bleacher Creatures.
“We know this is a chance to reach the masses and not only get the pope in front of his fans and his followers but also people that might not have been inspired by him before but have the chance to have the pope in plush,” said Micah Levy, Director of Marketing at Bleacher Creatures.
Bleacher Creature is hoping to team up with the Vatican and local institutions in the coming months. The company is hoping that the Pope blesses their Pope Francis doll.
“I think we are going to have strategic partners in the Philadelphia area when the Pope comes to town. I think a Pope Francis doll is always going to be able to sell. I think whether you're a catholic or you're inspired by Pope Francis it's something that is something you want in your collection.”
The Pope Francis plush doll will be on shelves in July. The company is currently taking pre-orders online at http://www.bleachercreatures.com/
