Like soft pretzels and cheese steaks, the 29th Annual Leprechaun Run has become a great Philadelphia tradition. It benefits Special Olympics athletes, some who compete in over a dozen sports and have traveled across the county doing competitions.

In fact, the organization says that it cost $225 for one athlete to participate in Special Olympics programming for an entire year. So, as they say, just a little fundraising can really make a big impact.  I had the opportunity to spend time with athletes from the organization who are true competitors and team players. Check out our video and hear why the run and the Special Olympics organization are so important to them.  And, for more information on the run, head to www.leprechaunrun.org – it’s an amazing event you can participate in and if you don’t want to run, you can volunteer!
