Chef Barbie Marshall joined us live on Eye Opener Philly to show that great produce, meats and dairy is right in your back yard. She says you be a “localvore” and support food grown by farmers right here in this region. On set she had everything from several types of apples to fresh meats to various herbs and several root vegetables. Barbie says the key is shopping at farmers markets like the Reading Terminal. She says going local isn’t just about being healthy but it’s a great way to boost your local economy and give back to your community.
Chef Barbie whipped up a delicious sweet potato hash and paired it with some fresh chicken. She works with several restaurant who support local farms by using their produce and meats. Chef Barbie also caters many events and she says she guarantees her customers food that is tasty with a healthy twist.
