On your marks…get set…cure!
Like many runners in area, Doreen Cannon enjoys hitting the pavement as a form of good old healthy exercise. The challenge she conquered this weekend was more than nothing short of inspirational.
Doreen traveled from King Of Prussia to San Francisco to run in the Nike Women’s Marathon – a run stretching for a whopping 26 miles. Though she’s been training for over a year, crossing the finish line wasn’t the only goal she had in mind. This race directly supports The Leukemia & Lymphona Society, which hits home not only for Doreen but her teammates as well.
Running by her side were her “Team In Training” teammates, many of whom are either survivors or have family members who are struggling with blood cancers.
Over 30,000 participants ran for the amazing cause this past weekend – each one making a difference along the way.
Be sure to tune in to Eye Opener on weekdays from 6 to 8 am.
