Pennsylvania Horticulture Society’s PHeaSt celebration is fast approaching — October 18, I’m joined by two vendors who are excited to share their diverse products with the Eye Opener audience. Bill Shick of the Chester County Food Bank shows us his fresh selection of produce that he grew, including some of the biggest sweet potatoes I’ve ever seen! He talks about his partnership with City Harvest, a great resource for community gardens and non-profits around the city in pursuit of growing food. We’re also joined by John Cooper of Dad’s Hat Rye Whiskey, the first distillery to produce rye whiskey in Pennsylvania since 1989. John mixes up a fresh cocktail that plays off whiskey’s ability to blend well with natural herbs. Take a look as he whips together a sage and peppercorn whiskey!
