People often say you never forget learning to ride a bike, but for Rosemary Siber biking is about defying what some may believe is impossible. Seven years ago, Rosemary was diagnosed multiple schlerosis without much hope for her future. Rosemary shared her inspiring story with me right before she rides in the Bike MS City to Shore event.
While most of her peers were concerned with leading carefree and vibrant lives as college students, Rosemary began fighting for hers when she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.
Tossing out the idea of being bound to a wheelchair for the remainder of her life, Rosemary has since then become an active member of the “I Ride With MS” program sponsored by Genzyme. The program aims to encourage activity and involvement for people with multiple sclerosis by hosting event such as the MS City to Shore Bike Ride, raising over 50 million dollars in the past three decades.
Last year, Rosemary traveled 75 miles when she participated in the MS City to Shore Bike Ride and she’ll be at it again on September 28th. To watch Rosemary’s incredible journey, check out the video above.
