I had a big smile on my face this morning on the set of Eye Opener Philly with the king of gourmet cheeses paying us a visit bright and early for a live segment. The one and only Di Bruno Brothers joined us for a sneak peek of their new cookbook – “The House of Cheese – A Guide to Wedges, Recipes and Pairings.”
And, get this – we made S’mores from their new book and there wasn’t a bit of the traditional campfire graham crackers or marshmallows. This grownup sizzling S’more is made with Scharfe Maxx cheese , dark chocolate and torrone “Italian nougat.”
There are 170 types of cheese in the book along with 30 recipes including cheddar and ale soup and a pretty elaborate mac ‘n’ cheese. The book tells you what wine or beer to pair with a particular recipe or cheese. It hits stores Tuesday and Di Bruno Bros will have events taking place the next couple of months including signings, demonstrations and tastings to kick it off. You can get a copy on www.DiBruno.com.
