You may know his recent hits “Troublemaker” and “Heart Skips a Beat,” but did you know that English Singer/Songwriter Olly Murs is not such a fan of celebrating his birthday?

This week on our Eye Opener Music Beat, Mike Adam catches up with the Essex native on his upcoming 29th birthday and why the release of his third album (first in the US) is extra special.

Oliver Stanley “Olly” Murs rose to fame after finishing as the runner-up in the sixth series of The X Factor in 2009.  He is currently signed to Epic Records in the United Kingdom, Columbia Records in the United States, and Syco Music.  After tremendous success in the U.K., Olly comes to the United States to tell his story on his new album In Case You Didn’t Know.  Humble to the extreme, Olly admits there are better pure vocalists, but in this new album lives the sound of someone in love with life.  His desire to share that feeling with everyone he can will one day take Olly straight to the top.

Tune in to Eye Opener every Friday at 7:19 for your Music Beat fix!
